Life Plan Class: Our Life Plan class begins on Tuesday, October 15 (and runs for 5 weekly two-hour sessions). We still have two open slots. If you are single and wondering about your future, this is a great opportunity to do some planning with like-minded others. Our wonderful professional facilitator Pat Hughes and our social worker Brandy McKinney also attend. We meet 1:30 pm-3:30 pm at the Capitol Hill Branch of the Seattle Public Library. Contact me for more information. If you are not a member but are interested, I can offer you the opportunity to attend if space is available.
Sharing
From Alline Thurlow: If you know of an affordable 1-bedroom or large studio apartment with daylight in a quiet neighborhood that is or may become available on October 1st or later, please reach out to me. (I have a car, so will need parking ... street okay.)
Increasingly, our lives are touched by dementia. Nancy Hooyman shares the availability of a book about a care partner’s journey (see attachment): Don't Walk Away, A Care Partner's Journey, https://dontwalkaway.net/ - a joyous, hopeful account of living with dementia.
Richard Zerbe has a new blog on “Status Seeking.” Due to its partisan-adjacent content, you can request it directly from Richard: richardozerbe@gmail.com
Walk the Block, celebrating Seattle’s Central District, is September 27 and 28. Go to this website for more information WTB — Wa Na Wari – (courtesy of Audrey Hansen who is watching out for opportunities for us even though she now lives in Oregon!)
For our tech-challenged members, you are not alone! See the cartoon (attached).
