Illuminating-the-Role-of-Death-in-Life---3-2-22 (1)In this interactive workshop, participants will be encouraged to think about how their beliefs and values influence their ability to cope with mortality, and to become more aware of their reactions to different worldviews.  Presented by members of the Ernest Becker Foundation (EBF), the workshop builds on cultural anthropologist Becker's work as well as current psychological research around death denial.  It is geared to those unfamiliar with Becker's synthesis and acts as an introduction to the ways in which we individually and culturally handle the knowledge of our mortality.

This group reads a play together each month.  No experience necessary.  Plays are selected by the group, adapted for our reading and enjoyed by all.  Usually, plays are read for the group's enjoyment, not for presentation to an audience.  Contact Victoria Bestock for more information.

Winter and Spring are the very best times to again to share our stories and get to know each other in new ways. Facilitated by a member, this popular and memorable program began in the winter of 2021. Three or four members share their stories and you'll be able to respond briefly. Guests are welcome! Facilitated by a member beginning with the 2021-22 season, the series resulted in a publication during summer of 2021 of many of the stories we told earlier this year. Contact Denise Klein if you'd like to be a storyteller or a moderator: denise@widerhorizonsvillage.org
