Wider Horizons Events and Information

2.      Men’s Coffee will meet this week on WEDNESDAY,  April 17, at 10:00 am at Victrola on 15th Ave. East. Charles Heaney will be the convener and no doubt share tales of the East Coast vacation he will just have returned from. His vacation is the reason for the change to a Wednesday this month.

3.      From Ann Lawrence and Pat Siggs (our Women’s Coffee mavens): On Wednesday, April 17th, WH womenfolk will gather at Diane Zerbe’s from 10:30 – noon. Her address is:  939 21st Ave E. on Capitol Hill. This is bound to be a wonderful gathering because that’s our tradition! Bring a goodie to share if you want. There will be plenty of coffee, teas of all sorts, and perhaps even chai. We look forward to seeing you there!

4.      Thursday morning’s All-Member Zoom is happening, per usual, this Thursday, April 18, at 9:30 am. Sue Lerner will send out the link and questions on Wednesday.

5.      Storytelling has been extended because we have so many great storytellers and stories they will tell. Join us this Thursday, April 18, at 4 pm on Zoom https://tinyurl.com/mtj6t3s5 to hear new and old storytellers! Featuring Jean Chen, Rick Grossman, Phil Gerson, Wolfgang Kluge, and Victoria Bestock. Themes include life choices and vulnerabilities.

6.      Fiber Art Enthusiasts – Friday, April 19, 10:30-noon…Please join us around our congenial ZOOM table for project viewing, tips, ideas and encouragement. All levels welcome. 2.      Mark Stensager joined a thousand other Alzheimer’s advocates in Washington DC last week to lobby for increased research and expanded programs for those afflicted with Alzheimer’s and their families. Attached is a picture of the Washington State delegation meeting with Senator Cantwell who, as a result of the lobbying effort will sponsor legislation to provide education to primary care physicians on the diagnosis and treatment of Alzheimer’s.
