Wider Horizons Events and Information

1.       Movie Group will meet today, Monday, October 30, at 4 pm to discuss the classic The Philadelphia Story with the inimitable Katharine Hepburn, among other great actors. The Zoom link is: https://tinyurl.com/48cduc4n You can rent the movie on Amazon or Apple. Denise Lishner will lead the discussion. All are welcome; see attached for more information and the questions for discussion.

2.       The first November meeting of the Men’s Coffee Group is 10 am, Wednesday, November 1, in the community room of Victrola at 411 15th Ave. E. Michael Kischner will be coordinating it. All are welcome.

3.       Women’s Coffee also meets on that Wednesday (Nov. 1), but at 10 am at Oxbow Bakery at 2307 24th Ave E.

4.       The Somesuch Players, our playreading group, will be reading the sumptuous Under Milkwood by Dylan Thomas at 1 pm on Wednesday, November 15 on Zoom. We need more readers! If you are interested, contact Victoria Bestock dancervictoria@gmail.com — Better yet, join us on an ongoing basis!

5.       Thursday morning’s all-member Zoom is this Thursday, November 2, in its usual time slot of 9:30 am. The link and small group questions will be sent out on Wednesday.

6.     Save the Date – Fiber Art Enthusiasts – Tuesday, November 7, 10:30-12:00 in-person at Fred Lind Manor Assisted Living on Cap. Hill.  All levels welcome, drop in visitors encouraged.  For information email Joan Bergman at jmbergman43@comcast.net.

If you are willing to host a holiday event for 6 or more people, let me know. I’m thinking December 20 through January 2. Tell me what format you have in mind (e.g., potluck, open house, sit-down dinner, etc. and preferably give at least 2 possible dates/times. I can handle the logistics for you (like RSVPs and rides).
