  5. From Victoria Bestock: Dear friends who care about our democracy: Come read a play with our Somesuch play reading group next month! We have decided to read “It Can’t Happen Here” based on the novel by Sinclair Lewis. We need a few more people to fill all the roles. There is no audition; you just have to sign up by sending me an email. The reading will take place on Wednesday August 21 from 1 pm – 3 pm(hopefully at Denise Klein’s apartment if we can do that safely; otherwise on Zoom) and people may stick around longer to talk about the play afterwards. dancervictoria@gmail.com

  6. Mark your calendars now for several upcoming events:

  • On Sunday, September 15, at 4 pm at Meridian Park in Wallingford, we will gather for a potluck picnic. Be there or be square. Sign up with me. And dust off those park games you’ll want to bring! Patti Gorman, Ann Lawrence, and Debbie Ward are the planners, so you know it will be fun.

  • On Thursday, October 24, 1-5 pm, we will have our second Member Art Exhibit. Once again, it’s at the well-located Russian Community Center on 19th Ave E. Please contact Susan Jamison or Connie Glinsmann if you have art you would like to exhibit: sjamis@earthlink.net  connieglinsmann@gmail.com
