Sharing

  1. From Naomi Shiff: Immerse yourself in a celebration that pays homage to the ancient Japanese tradition of honoring the autumn moon! See the attached PDF that describes events the evenings of September 12 and 13 at the Japanese Garden in the Arboretum.

  2. One of our members wants you to beware of a call purporting to be from the King County Sheriff’s office about a summons to jury duty. It is a scam! Hang up at once!!! Law enforcement offices are way to busy to call you about such matters, but scammers use that ploy to make you fearful. Read more at this link: https://kingcounty.gov/en/legacy/depts/sheriff/news-media/scam-alert. And, in general, hang up immediately on any caller that seems suspicious. You can let them call back and listen to a message; then, more than likely, you should block that caller. Scammers prey on the natural anxiety that many elders have—especially where law enforcement appears to be involved.
