Monday Morning Memo - 3.31.2025
Wider Horizons Events and Information
I’m going to send out the photos, bios, and contact info for five of our newest members later today—separately.
Women’s Coffee, Wednesday, April 2, 10:30 am: At Eleanor Dill’s home, 919 21st Ave E (an added thrill are the amazing cherry trees in bloom).
Men’s Coffee, Wednesday, April 2, 10:30 am: At Ada’s on 15th Ave E, Contact Michael Kischner if you need a ride or have questions. If some of us arrive a bit early, we can help staff prepare the room and table for us.
Thursday morning’s All-Member Zoom is happening, per usual, this Thursday, April 3 at 9:30 am. Sue Lerner will send out the link and questions on Wednesday.
Sunday Arboretum Walk, Sunday, April 6, led by Dick Zerbe. Meet at 9 am at the Graham Visitors Center.
Happy Hour, Sunday, April 6, 4-6 pm, at Jimmy’s (Broadway and Madison). Free parking and call me if you’ve never used it before—it’s a bit tricky.
Sharing
There’s a show at the Pratt Fine Art Gallery, 1902 S. Main St., April 5 & 6, 10 am – 5 pm: Micki Lippe’s scarves; Judith Bird’s clothing, and Jane Drucker’s jewelry. 25% of the proceeds will be donated to Pratt.
From Margret Buchmann: There are all kinds of places where we can find hope and tenderness in actions which don’t seem to change anything. Honoring our humanity and unity even so. I teared up a bit [when I read this piece]: https://www.theguardian.com/world/2025/mar/29/a-common-humanity-the-british-families-who-tended-graves-of-german-soldiers

Supplement: The five people described in the attachment joined at varying times. Jane is a brand-new member, and the others have just recently sent in their photos and bios.
Enjoy meeting them and, please, welcome them to our village.
