Monday Morning Memo - 12.2.2024

Wider Horizons Events and Information

  1. I’ve attached an updated Member Directory for those of you who keep this on their computer (or even print it out periodically). You can, of course, also find a Directory of all Members (with photos of most) on our website in the “Members Only” section. If you don’t know how to access that section of the website (and it’s a good idea), contact Gray Wilson, webmistress: gray.w.wilson@gmail.com And I’d appreciate you proofing your own entry in the attached Directory. Dick Zerbe recently caught an error in his email address.

  2. Michael Kischner will convene WH Men Drinking Coffee this Wednesday, Dec. 4, at 10:30, at Victrola on 15th Ave. E. Let Michael know if you need at ride.

  3. From Ann Lawrence: There will be no Women’s Coffee Gathering this month (already packed with activities). This wonderful monthly gathering will resume in January 2025, with the first coffee klatch at the home of Ann Lawrence. But rather than having it on the first Wednesday, which is January 1st, we decided to have it on January 8th from 10:30 – 12:30. Come and share the good cheer. We are recruiting people who would like to host other coffee gatherings on: February 5th; March 5th;  April 2nd; May 7th, and June 4th.  Please check your calendars to see which month might work for you. Email your choice of month to Ann at all4us2@earthlink.net. We value these times when we can get together and we appreciate all of you who open your homes, bring goodies to share, and show up with such enthusiasm.

  4. Thursday morning’s All-Member Zoom is happening, per usual, this Thursday, December 5, at 9:30 am. Sue Lerner will send out the link and questions on Wednesday.

  5. Sunday Arboretum Walk, December 8, led by Dick Zerbe. Meet at 9 am at the Graham Visitors Center.

  6. Saturday December 14th from 3-6 p.m and Sunday December 22nd from 2-5 p.m. Paper Star Making: Make paper stars for hanging everywhere and anywhere.  All materials provided.  Bring your own scissors, and any fancy heavier paper you'd like to use, if you have some on hand. Children and grandchildren welcome. Peggy O'Donnell, host. 4975 13th Avenue South (mid-Beacon Hill). Ample on street parking. 6 guests. Email Peggy at margaretplaywright@outlook.com.
